What is the IPCC tethering hack?
Once the hack is applied, it allows you to install cellphone Carrier Bundles that aren't officially signed by Apple. This lets you, for instance, install a Carrier Bundle that allows you to use your iPhone as a way to connect your PC to the internet (through your 3G cell connection). Note that carriers may not like you tethering behind their back so you do so at your own risk.

IPCC tethering hack là cách patch commcenter để iphone có thể dùng custom IPCC carrier profile và đồng thời để có hiện lên chế độ "tethering" trong settings -> general -> network. Khi bật chế độ này ON thì bạn có thể dùng iPhone như là cái adsl router/modem. Liên kết máy laptop/PC để vào internet qua iPhone 3G data network.

Người không có nhu cầu này thì không cần động vào. Nên nhớ, iphone phải có truyền data qua mạng 3G.

ps: nên nhớ rằng có nhà mạng hổ trợ "internet tethering" trong gói đăng ký. Ví dụ như là Roger của Canada. Trong trường hợp đó thì không cần patch commcenter vì nhà mạng Roger sẽ có IPCC carrier update trong iTunes. Vấn đề patch commcenter hack ở đây là chỉ dành riêng để dùng với những nhà mạng không hổ trợ "internet tethering" như là AT&T ở Mỹ. Chính vì thế iTunes không có carrier update cho AT&T nên người dùng cần phải patch commcenter để iPhone có thể nhận IPCC profile mà không có signed bởi Apple
