Royal District Nursing Service releases talking books on diabetes for Vietnamese community
TALKING books will be available for the learn vietnamese lesson 1 community to help those living with diabetes.
The books, released by the Royal District Nursing Service, will help educate Vietnamese people about the condition.
People can view the books online and the books are split into different chapters, each dealing with a specific aspect of diabetes.
The books are provided in learn vietnamese lesson 3 , but an English option is also available.
The talking book will be used by Royal District Nursing Service nurses with their Vietnamese clients and their families, although the book is available for anyone to read.
Service diversity manager Jaklina Michael said it was important to address health issues and help people manage them.
“Diabetes is the fastest growing health problem in Australia,†Ms Michael said.
“Nearly 1300 people are diagnosed every week with type 2 diabetes.
“At RDNS, we are committed to learn vietnamese lesson 2 assisting all people to learn about their health and to better manage their health problems.
“Information on type 2 diabetes in Vietnameseis one way through which we can help to improve the health literacy of people in the Vietnamese community to do this.â€
